  • 500 g all-purpose flour
  • 240 ml lukewarm milk
  • 2¼ tsp instant dry yeast
  • 170 g brown sugar
  • 900 g apples (like Pink Lady or Fuji)
  • 60 g unsalted butter
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 120 g sugar
  • 60 g unsalted melted butter cooled to room temperature
  • 1 egg at room temperature
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract or essence

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, yeast, and sugar. Gradually add lukewarm milk until a soft dough forms.
  2. Add melted butter, egg, and vanilla extract; knead until smooth.
  3. Cover and let rise in a warm area for about 30 minutes.
  4. Prepare the apple filling by cooking chopped apples with butter, brown sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, salt, and water until tender.
  5. Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread the apple filling evenly on top.
  6. Roll tightly into a log and slice into pieces. Let rise again for 20 minutes before baking at 180°C (350°F) for 30–40 minutes.
