  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 cup water
  • 3 large apples, peeled and chopped
  • 3 tbsp cornstarch

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine brown sugar, sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and water. Stir in the chopped apples.
  2. Heat over medium until boiling. Reduce heat and simmer until apples are tender (about 10 minutes).
  3. Remove 1/2 cup of the cooking liquid to a bowl. Mix in cornstarch until smooth, then return to saucepan.
  4. Cook on low heat while stirring constantly until thickened.
