  • 1 teaspoon white vinegar
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and granulated sugar. Add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract, red food coloring, vinegar, cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Mix until just combined.
  3. Reserve 1/4 cup of brownie batter. Pour the remaining batter into the prepared pan.
  4. In another bowl, beat softened cream cheese with powdered sugar, egg, and vanilla until smooth.
  5. Spread the cream cheese mixture over the brownie layer and drop spoonfuls of reserved brownie batter on top.
  6. Swirl layers gently with a toothpick or knife.
  7. Bake for 35–40 minutes until set in the center. Allow cooling completely before refrigerating for at least 2 hours before serving.
