  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and ginger.
  3. In a large bowl, mix applesauce, milk, vegetable oil, molasses, and vanilla until combined.
  4. Gently fold dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Pour batter into an 8×11-inch baking dish evenly.
  6. For the topping: Combine brown sugar and granulated sugar with cinnamon; sprinkle over the batter.
  7. Pour apple cider and water over the topping without stirring.
  8. Bake for about 40 minutes or until set in the center.
