  • 2 lbs apples (Gala, Fuji, Cortland, Ambrosia, or McIntosh)
  • 10 cups water
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 inches fresh ginger
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 tsp black peppercorns

Instructions

  1. Quarter and core the apples; no need to peel.
  2. In an Instant Pot, combine apples, ginger, brown sugar, cinnamon sticks, black peppercorns, and water. Cook on high pressure for 18 minutes.
  3. For stovetop preparation: Simmer the mixture in a stock pot for about 30 minutes after boiling.
  4. Strain the tea using a fine mesh sieve to separate solids from liquid.
  5. Allow to cool before serving hot or chilled.
