  • 210 g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp poppy seeds
  • 200 g cream cheese (cold)
  • 120 g heavy cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 75 g powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp agave or honey
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  2. Add egg, vanilla extract, and lemon zest; mix well.
  3. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and poppy seeds. Gradually add to wet ingredients without overmixing.
  4. Drop dough onto a lined baking sheet and bake for about 10 minutes until lightly golden.
  5. Cool on wire racks while preparing frosting by beating together cream cheese, powdered sugar, agave or honey, heavy cream, and vanilla until smooth.
